Abba-Zabba bars are a kind of taffy that originally appeared in 1922. This candy bar is made with taffy in the shape of a candy bar and is filled with peanut butter in the centre. It’s a delicious confection that also happens to be high in protein!

It was formerly created by a few different firms before being produced by Annabelle Candy Company in California. The recipe has always remained the same, and the candy is kosher. They have recently released several more varieties of the peanut taffy bar.

Aero

Aero, a Nestle chocolate bar, is a chocolate bar made of aerated chocolate. This implies that bubbles are present throughout the chocolate bar, giving it a light feel. Originally manufactured by Rowantrees, this bar was bought by Nestl and manufactured in England in 1935.

This chocolate bar’s bouncy texture distinguishes it from the competition. It is popular because to the melt-in-the-mouth quality provided by the bubbles. They even introduced a mint taste, which is possibly more popular than the original.

After Eight Mints

After Eight mints are a high-end mint that was created expressly for use as an after-dinner mint. Alternatively, as the name implies, after eight o’clock. They are made with a mint crème that is covered in thin chocolate, similar to peppermint patties.

Nestle bought After Eight from the original maker of the delectable mints in 1988. The mints remain very popular in both North America and Europe. The recipe has been gradually modified throughout time to enhance the taste.

Airheads candy was introduced in 1985 and has since become a popular among both adults and children. Initially offered as a long taffy, they have recently begun to appear in a variety of shapes and sizes.

Although they are only a candy, they come in both sweet and sour tastes and are popular due to the fact that the flavor is not overbearing.

There are other varieties to pick from, but the originals are grape, green apple, strawberry, and orange.

Several new flavors have just been introduced, including blue raspberry, watermelon, white mystery, and many more!

Perfetti Van Melle is the firm that manufactures airheads. This is a Dutch-Italian firm known for several of its sweet tastes.

Allsorts

Allsorts is the next candy on the list that begins with the letter A. This is a candy mix that has a variety of licorice candies combined together in one bag. These bright, tasty treats come in a variety of shapes and sizes, with some sugar coated and others filled with jelly or gelatin.

These candies were introduced in 1899 by the Bassett Candy Company. A corporate sales representative stumbled and dumped a tray of various candies, and the customer with whom he was dealing appreciated the notion of having several different sweets in one mix. As a result, the concept of Allsorts was established. These sweets are particularly popular in England, however they are still available in the United States.

Almond Joy is a Hershey Corporation product that is a delicious sweet filled with creamy coconut and topped with almonds. This is then covered in milk chocolate for the ultimate chocolaty, coconutty, almondy bliss! If you like almonds and coconut, this is the chocolate bar for you.

If you’ve ever eaten a Mounds Candy bar, you’ll recognize them. Mounds is covered in dark chocolate, whilst Almond Joy is coated in milk chocolate.

Peter Paul created Almond Joy in 1946, but the bar was purchased by Hersheys Corporation in 1988.

Altoids

Altoids are more of a mint than a candy, but I’ve included them on our list of sweets starting with A. These mints have been in operation since the 1780s! These folks know what they’re doing, having produced mints for almost two centuries.

These delectable mints have always arrived in a metal tin, and they have no plans to change that anytime soon. Smith & Company, a London-based firm, is responsible for the mints. In more recent times, the company’s name was changed to Callard & Bowser, which it is still known as today.

These peppermint oil mints are generally regarded as the first acclaimed twisted strung mints. Although peppermint is the most common flavor, wintergreen, spearmint, and cinnamon are all available. The firm used to make Altoids Sours, but they were discontinued.

Amarula

Although Amarula was initially recognized as a South African liqueur, the company has begun to make a candy bar that tastes similar to the liquor. Amarula is a Swiss chocolate candy bar infused with the liqueur’s essence. It’s a delicious combo.

This candy bar does contain alcohol, although the amount is less than 1%. The marula tree and fruit provide the bulk of the taste in the liquer.

Andes

The next item on the list of candies starting with A is Andes mints. These are delicious chocolate mints with an interesting backstory. Andes mints are a mint layer coated in a thick coating of chocolate and wrapped in a thin foil wrapper. These mints, like After Eights, are often presented as an after-dinner mint.

These mints, formerly known as Andys Candies, were introduced in 1950. It soon became clear that guys disliked buying ladies chocolates with another man’s name on the box! When the proprietor, Andrew Kanelos, realized this, he altered the name of the mints, which quickly became famous.

Andes mints have been owned by a number of companies, most notably Tootsie Roll Corporation in 2000, and they are still a member of the Tootsie Roll family today. These delightful snacks are very light, with just approximately 25 calories per mint!

Throughout the years, the firm has sought to introduce other tastes such as cherry jubilee and chocolate orange, but the original has always remained popular.

Applehead

Applehead is an American sweet made by Ferrara Candy Company. Lemonheads are another famous sweet created by the same firm and utilizing a similar concept. The Applehead formula was created in 1962 using the same process as Red Hots, another Ferrara Pan Candy.

These candies are made using a cold panned method, which ensures a consistent consistency throughout the candy.

Atomic Fireball

This hard candy has a spicy, cinnamon taste. Although there are numerous hot cinnamon candies on the market, the atomic fireball stands out because of its massive size and spherical form.

Those who prefer spicy cuisine appreciate this sweet. Youngsters appreciate the sweet because it may be used to challenge or dare their peers. Although it is accessible all year, the sweet is particularly popular during the winter months because to its comforting flavor.

Au’some

Ausome is one of the top manufacturers of sugar-free and gluten-free confectionery. Their extensive product line is appropriate for persons with allergies, celiac disease, or diabetes. This candy is vegan and kosher, making it suitable for practically everyone.

Ausome products vary from chocolate-covered pretzels to gummy bears to jelly beans. The chocolate wrapped pretzels are delicious, with a thick creamy chocolaty shell and a crispy and salty internal pretzel.
