Señorita Bread Recipe

Prepare the dough

  1. Whisk together the warm milk, active dry yeast, and a tablespoon of your preferred sugar in the bowl of a stand mixer (or in a big mixing basin if done by hand). Allow to sit for 5 minutes, covered with a tea towel.
  2. Then, add the egg, butter, salt, and the remaining sugar. Add half of the flour as well. Beat the ingredients for 30-45 seconds on low speed using the paddle attachment or a dough hook. Before adding the remaining flour, scrape the sides of the bowl with a rubber spatula.
  3. Increase the mixer speed to medium and beat until the bread dough begins to come together (about 4 minutes). The mixture should be sticky yet soft enough to be kneaded.
